The Acres at High Shore B&B
The Acres: Shipping Container (Entire Guest House)
Stay with your friends or family at High Shore - a unique modern-meets-rustic shipping container guest house in stunning Prince Edward County, Ontario.
The guest house is generously set back from the County road, and allows guests more privacy than B&Bs occupying a single dwelling. Situated in a naturally vegetated meadow surrounded by Junipers, wetlands and farmer's fields. It's the perfect adult retreat to reconnect with your friends or loved ones, have fun, and enjoy all the area has to offer.
Comprised of three individual guest "Sweets" and a shared kitchenette, the owner's vision of a "pinwheel" layout is connected by decking and an open, pergola-like roof, and centered around a garden in the courtyard.
Yes, that's "sweets" (instead of suites) - these private guest container spaces are cozy and cute, but they give the illusion of space with large, custom windows. Enjoy the tranquility of the outdoors while lounging in bed with your morning coffee! Each sweet offers queen-sized beds that are set before a large picture window, displaying nature in all its glory. With your own balcony, washroom and Smart TV, you can nestle in and enjoy, regardless of what the weather is doing outside.
The kitchenette container is where a locally- sourced, homemade breakfast is laid out for guests daily. While there are no cooking facilities for the guests, they are welcome to congregate there, and use the fridge, table/glassware, etc. if they wish.
While you can rent out the individual "Sweets" (up to two adults per container), this specific HiBnb listing allows you to rent out the whole shebang! Take over the space with up to six of your favourite humans, and enjoy the beauty and bounty the County has to offer.Important: Our properties are protected by SUPERHOG, the digital trust platform that enables hosts, operators and guests to confidently transact in the short-term rentals space. About Your Host:
The owner and hostess of The Acres, Alison (“Ali”) Lawtey, lives full-time on the property in the farm house (c. 1870), and is there to welcome guests and recommend her favourite County treasures. As a fairly recent transplant from Toronto, she continues to discover the many wonderful ways to eat, sip and play in the County. She welcomes tips, feedback and suggestions from her guests, and hopes they will truly unplug to enjoy the immersive rural experience.
Host's Cannabis Preference
Host is not providing cannabis but you are welcome to bring your own.
The property boasts 14+ acres, mostly comprised of conservation wetland. Wander the path leading to the back pond where you can appreciate all sorts of flora and fauna. The area of the County overlooks Muscote Bay, and the property itself was formerly known as “High Shore Farm”. Conveniently situated in the "sweet spot" of PEC, The Acres B&B is the best of both worlds: a quick 10 – 15 minutes from the 401, Belleville, and the main towns of the County; but slightly off the beaten path so as to offer up a much-needed escape from the hustle and bustle of the urban world.
